We are a truly local charity providing essential animal welfare services across Suffolk
The RSPCA Suffolk Central branch exists to help animals across Suffolk. Our Animal Centre in Martlesham can care for over 100 animals in need at any one time. Through our welfare clinics and financial assistance scheme we support nearly 3,000 people and pets annually by providing heavily subsidised veterinary treatment.
95% of everything we do is funded by support from our local community via our charity shops, fundraising efforts, donations and gifts in Wills.
Adoption & rehoming
Our Animal Centre based in Martlesham has up to 100 animals in our care at any time. Could you offer a forever home to an animal in need? Take a look at our current residents below.
Pet of the week

Athos, Cookie & Peanut
Athos, Peanut and Cookie, Guinea Pigs, Male (neutered) and females, various colours
Athos and his two girlfriends Peanut and Cookie have recently been bonded here on site. Athos originally came in with his brothers and Peanut and Cookie with their sisters but had to be separated due to fighting. It makes us incredibly happy to see that they are now starting to become braver, while living in a healthier social structure.
As all three guinea pigs were the ones that were picked on in their previous groups, they are extremely shy and careful and will need a very patient owner that respects their boundaries. They will need a lot of socialisation through hand feeding which they are not comfortable with yet. We do see improvement with us and can be around them while they nibble on their favourite veggies, without them hiding away.
If you have a spacious, safe and enriched accommodation and would like to give these three beautiful Guinea Pigs your love and a forever home – Please reach out to us.
You made a difference in 2024
There are many ways YOU can help raise the vital funds that we need to deliver our vital services. RSPCA Suffolk Central receives no funding from the government, all the running costs of the branch comes from generous donations, fundraising and legacies from the public and local community. But together this is what we achieved last year..
