More about me
Get to know me…
Beautiful Bear came to us when his previous owner could no longer provide him with the time he needed.
He has bonded brilliantly with some of the staff here but he will need a patient and understanding owner who is able to visit him at the centre multiple times to build a bond and trust with him before taking him home – we promise he’s worth it so you can see his beautiful affectionate side!
He loves exploring our secure gardens, having tummy rubs from his trusted people and exploring enrichment to keep his mind happy. He would best suit a rural home away from lots of people, traffic and noises so he can enjoy the countryside and all it has to offer.
Bear is a very intelligent boy who will need continued training in the home, and ideally have owners happy to get professional behaviour advice via a registered behaviourist/trainer recommended by the RSPCA team, so that he can gain confidence in new areas and learn how to interact appropriately around other dogs too.
We can tell Bear really wants to be friends with other dogs but struggles with certain social skills at the moment. For this reason, he needs to wear a muzzle when out and be kept on lead unless in a secure field with high fencing. He can be a little too clever and is a bit of an athlete jumper at times, so the team will be assessing every garden individually in order to find him a garden that is safe enough. We just ask adopters to be open minded about potentially adding amendments to their garden boundaries if needed.
Bear is a wonderful dog, with a beautiful character! If you have time, patience and love to offer a rescue dog a home, then give us a call to discuss more about Bear.
