Volunteers are the backbone of our Branch
Working alongside our staff, our enthusiastic team of volunteers are a major support. Whatever your motivation for volunteering one thing is certain – it’s a truly rewarding experience!
We have the following volunteer opportunities available with full training provided:
Charity Shop Volunteers
We have five Charity Shops, located in Felixstowe, Tacket Street Ipswich, Reynolds Road Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds.
Our Charity Shops bring in the much-needed income that we need to keep rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals that come into our care and we couldn’t carry out our vital work without our fantastic shop staff and volunteers.
We are looking for volunteers at our new Bury St Edmunds shop (including helping out at the instore coffee shop), two Ipswich Shops and our Stowmarket Shop. This can be helping on the till, sorting, steaming and helping around our shops on most days of the week.

Martlesham Animal Centre
If you are interested in work experience placements for 2024; please contact us later in the year / early next year.

Veterinary Welfare Clinic
We are sorry but we currently do not have any volunteering vacancies at our Clinic at this time. If you would like to express an interest in volunteering at the Clinic in the future, please contact our Clinic Administrator, Rebecca Moll and she will get back in touch as soon as a vacancy arises.

Trustees
Trustees play a pivotal strategic role in ensuring the Branch is run efficiently and effectively. Are you an enthusiastic and passionate person who can devote time and experience to actively contribute in the running of our Branch? If you are interested in becoming a Trustee or would like further information we would love to hear from you.

Marketing, Fundraising and Events Management
As a locally run independently registered charity we have to raise all our own funds to run the Branch.
We run a variety of events which help raise funds for our Martlesham Animal Centre and our Welfare Clinics and schemes. Being a fundraising and events volunteer is a fantastic way to help support the work of the Branch. Whether you can help for a few hours at an event or would like to get involved more regularly, we’d love to hear from you. If your skills lie in marketing, event management (virtual and face to face), or if you’re more creative and hands-on, you can play a vital role in helping us raise money to help animals in need. Supermarkets Collections
We hold a number of Supermarket Collections in our Branch area. We collect on pre-arranged dates throughout the year, usually in 2 hours slots although you can collect for longer if you are able to. No experience is necessary as training will be provided. Fundraising collections are a vital part of our income and help us continue our animal welfare work. Confirmed dates can be found here.
