The Branch is governed by a Committee of between 5 and 14 members, called Trustees, who are elected at the Branch’s AGM. Drawn from individuals who have been members of the Branch for at least three months (and have attended at least three monthly meetings as an observer), all are volunteers and receive no payment for their services.  They have individual and collective responsibility for the management of the Branch and its funds. Subject to the overall supervision of the National Society, the Committee controls and monitors all the fundraising and animal welfare initiatives including the work of the Animal Centre, the Clinic at St. Georges Street in Ipswich and the charity shops.   The Trustees hold monthly meetings at which decisions are made, and there are also Sub-Committee meetings held regularly to discuss specialist areas such as the Animal Centre and fundraising.

The RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch is an unincorporated charitable association and a separately registered branch of the RSPCA that operates in accordance with the Regulations and Policies of the National Society, carrying out its direct animal welfare work in Suffolk.
