Great result from Open Day & Fun Dog Show

It was great to have the first Open Day event after Lockdown and, although it was rather hot and a little quieter than pre-Covid years, we still raised a magnificent £2246.08 for the animals in our care.

Thank you to everyone who helped.

To Jean, Suzanne and Diane for running the refreshment and Mohammed and his great team for the BBQ. Many thanks to the kind bakers for the cakes and other lovely eatables.

The Dog Show was ably judged by Geoffrey, and Hannah from Skinner’s Pet Food at Stradbrooke, who also kindly donated doggy goody bags to first, second and third prize winners as well as a voucher for Best in Show.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped with set up, covering RSPCA stalls and take-down at the end of a hot but excellent day.

More thanks go to the non-RSPCA stallholders who brought a great range of goods, and themselves made kind donations to us on the day.

Our next event is an Autumn Craft Fair at Stowupland Village Hall on 16 October, and we hope to see you all there.

Project Winston begins!

After years in the planning, Project Winston has started on site. The first works began on 29th May, after a quick photoshoot with staff, Trustees and volunteers from the Animal Centre and staff from the contractors, RG Carter. Jean Short (our Hon Chairman) and Paul Segger (General Works Manager, RG Carter) were wielding the spades, but Blue, a beautiful lurcher who is looking for his forever home, stole the show.

If you’d like more information on hosting a money-raising event or sponsoring the Project Winston build, please take a look at the Project Winston section here on our website or contact Kate Grimwood at kate.grimwood@rspca-ipswich.org.uk / 01449 614057.

Dog Fosterers needed

We are introducing an exciting and rewarding scheme at the RSPCA Martlesham Centre; we need fosterers to help some of the dogs in our care. We are looking for understanding people who can provide a safe home and positive socialising and training. Check out more details in our Pets section of the website.
