RSPCA Suffolk Central London Marathon event terms & conditions.

Terms and Conditions

By applying for an RSPCA Suffolk Central charity place entry into the TCS London Marathon 2027 in support of RSPCA Suffolk Central branch, I confirm I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions.

Registration and Participation

  1. I understand that this Event is organised by the Event Organiser, who is solely responsible for the conduct and operation of the Event, including all health and safety requirements. I will read the Event Organiser’s Terms and Conditions for the event, and I will comply with any specific Event rules given by them

2. I will be aged 18 years or over on the date of the Event.

3. If my application for a charity place in the Event, in support of RSPCA Suffolk Central, is successful and I am offered a charity place, I will:

a. Pay RSPCA Suffolk Central branch, within 2 weeks of being offered a charity place, a non-refundable registration fee of £100.00. The Registration Fee will be paid though a link emailed to me by RSPCA Suffolk Central, to secure my place in the Event.

b. Complete the online registration with London Marathon Events Ltd (the “Event Organiser”) via their console. Failure to complete the Event Organiser’s registration by any applicable deadline given by RSPCA Suffolk Central, may result in the place offer being withdrawn.

4. I acknowledge that I cannot swap, sell, or transfer my place in the Event or allow anyone else to participate on my behalf.

5. I understand that RSPCA Suffolk Central:

a. reserves the right to refuse my application for a charity place in the Event, if applications received by RSPCA Suffolk Central exceed the number of places available. RSPCA Suffolk Central is not obliged to notify me as to why my application has not been successful.

b. reserves the right to withdraw my charity place in the Event at any time in exceptional circumstances, including if I do anything that brings, or could bring, RSPCA Suffolk Central’s reputation into disrepute or if I do not comply with these terms and conditions.

6. I will inform RSPCA Suffolk Central immediately if I am unable to take part in the Event. When my withdrawal is acknowledged by RSPCA Suffolk Central, I will not be liable to raise any further sponsorship.

7. Deferrals will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, at the discretion of RSPCA Suffolk Central branch.

Fundraising

8. If I am offered a place in the event, I agree to aim to raise a minimum of £2,000 for RSPCA Suffolk Central branch (excluding Gift Aid and the registration fee). I understand this is a minimum target, and I am encouraged to aim for £2,500, and raise as much as possible beyond this.

9. The RSPCA Suffolk Central fundraising team will support me throughout my journey, including regular contact by email , as well as check-ins to help with my fundraising plans.

10. I will reach out to my personal networks, and I can also organise fundraising activities or events to reach my targets.

11. I will outline my fundraising plans during the application process. If I am offered a place, the RSPCA Suffolk Central fundraising team will support me in developing a more detailed plan, including a monthly fundraising forecast.

12. I commit to the following fundraising milestones to help me stay on track and raising as money as I can to help local animals in need across Suffolk:

a. If I register before 1st September 2026, I will raise or donate at least £1,000 (50% of the minimum target) by 31st January 2027.

b. I will raise or donate £1,000 (50% of the minimum target) by 30 April 2027, regardless of my registration date.

c. I understand that if I fall significantly behind these milestones, my place may be reviewed.

13. I agree that the full £2,000 fundraising target will be raised/donated by 31 May 2027.

14. I understand that RSPCA Suffolk Central branch may review my place if I am not actively working towards the fundraising target and will aim to discuss any concerns with me first.

15. If at any point I feel I may struggle to reach the fundraising target, I will let RSPCA Suffolk Central branch know as soon as possible so they can support me.

16. If needed, I agree that RSPCA Suffolk Central branch may work with me to explore alternative options, including other events that may be a better fit.

Fundraising Compliance

17. I will use only lawful means to fundraise in aid of RSPCA Suffolk Central branch and will not do anything that harms or is likely to harm RSPCA Suffolk Central’s reputation.

18. I will comply with any fundraising guidance or advice issued by RSPCA Suffolk Central branch and abide by the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice available here.

19. I will make clear to everyone supporting my fundraising that I am raising funds ‘in aid of’ RSPCA Suffolk Central branch.

Donations and Payment Terms

20. All monies raised offline, in aid of RSPCA Suffolk Central branch, are held on trust for RSPCA Suffolk Central and I understand that I have a legal responsibility to ensure that all funds raised in connection with the Event are paid to RSPCA Suffolk Central branch.

21. . I will pay all monies raised in connection to the Event by one of the following means:

a. Via an online giving platform (such as, Give Star or JustGiving) as per RSPCA Suffolk Central’s instructions.

b. To RSPCA Suffolk Central’s bank account by using banking details provided by RSPCA Suffolk Central branch.

c. By cheque, CAF vouchers or Charities Trust vouchers made payable to ‘RSPCA Suffolk Central branch’ and sent to: London Marathon Fundraising, RSPCA Suffolk Central branch, Mill Lane, Martlesham, Suffolk IP12 4PD.

22. I understand that if I withdraw for any reason from the Event any monies raised will be non-refundable and will be treated as a donation to RSPCA Suffolk Central branch, I will advise any sponsors who request a refund to contact RSPCA Suffolk Central directly to do this.

23. I will make it clear when fundraising in connection with the Event, that the money is not given subject to any conditions and that the funds will not be returned if the Event is cancelled, or I do not complete the Event.

My Data

24. You agree to RSPCA Suffolk Central branch storing the information that you provided on our database. Please see our privacy policy for details.

25. I give permission for my personal information to be passed on to the Event Organiser by RSPCA Suffolk Central branch for the purposes of the organisation, promotion, and administration of the Event.

26. I give permission for the free use of my name, picture, image, feedback and comments in any future publicity, advertising, fundraising materials, and/or promotion conducted by RSPCA Suffolk Central branch.

Health, Safety and Fitness

27. I understand that the Event will be physically challenging and there is a risk of injury. I will prepare myself for the physical challenge of the Event by training, and if necessary, I will obtain confirmation from my doctor to ensure that I am medically fit to participate in the Event.

28. I confirm that I will not participate in the Event if for any reason I am not, or if I feel that I am not, in a fit state to take part and I confirm that it is my responsibility to seek expert medical advice if appropriate.

Liability

29. Nothing in these terms limits any liability which cannot legally be limited, including death or personal injury caused by negligence.

30. I understand that the activities and/or events I organise to raise funds in aid of RSPCA Suffolk Central are my responsibility, including but not limited, to all costs and liability. RSPCA Suffolk Central branch bears no liability whatsoever for any events and/or activities I may organise. RSPCA Suffolk Central branch shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss to me, my property or to any third party that might occur because of the fundraising activities and/or events that I organise.

31. I understand that I take part in the Event at my own risk, and I will not hold RSPCA Suffolk Central branch or any connected persons, responsible for any accident, injury or illness to me, for any damage to my property, or for any losses that might occur as a result of my participation in the Event.
