We often get asked what donations we can accept in our shops and at our Martlesham Animal Centre, so below is a handy guide!

A list of the donations we would love is below:

Our charity shops

We are always incredibly grateful for donations of unwanted items at our five charity shops.

Items that we love to receive are:

  • Clothing (Mens, Womens and Kids)
  • Accessories (hats, shoes, bags etc.)
  • Toys, games and jigsaw puzzles
  • Bric-a-brac (glass, china, tableware, kitchen utensils, pictures etc.)
  • Collectables such as vinyl records, jewellery, decorative items.

Sorry, but we cannot accept laptops, computers or tablets, power tools, e-bikes or e-scooters, electric blankets, electric heaters/fires, microwaves, sunbeds and tanning equipment, white goods, personal hygiene items (such as foot spas, shavers), furniture, duvets and pillows (unless in original packaging), roller or venetian blinds, mattresses, towels and bedding, safety equipment (such as mobility items, buoyancy aids, climbing equipment, safety helmets and motorcycle visors/googles etc.), sports equipment (e.g. cross trainers, exercise bikes, rowing or running machines), children’s items such as floatation aids, car/booster seats, cribs/cradles, carrycots, nursery equipment, playpens, baby baths etc.), sharps/weapons inc. ammunition, crossbows or catapults, sharp knives, swords or guns (including replicas), gas/petrol applicances, medications/drug related items, flammable items, food or perishables, hot water bottles, military uniforms, car parts, skates or rollerblades, underwear, spectacles or thermos flasks, unsealed cosmetics and toiletries, ivory, fur or items made from exotic skins, taxidermy or decorative art that uses animal products.

Our shop locations

Martlesham Animal Centre

Our Martlesham Animal Centre would love the following items, either new or good condition second-hand:

  • Unopened pet food (wet or dry)
  • Unopened treats for cats, dogs or rabbits
  • Scratching posts
  • Toys and other sources of enrichment
  • Pet carriers
  • Newspapers
  • Leads, harnesses, collars, jackets suitable for resale

Items can be donated at our Reception during our opening hours or there is a donation station box outside our main gates.
