Fun dog show smashes previous year’s total

Congratulations to everyone attending or volunteering at our recent (6 September) Open Day at our Martlesham Animal Centre. Together we raised an astounding £3,765.15 to help animals in need across Suffolk, almost £1500 more than last year. Many thanks to everyone who came and made the day so wonderful.

We had a fabulous selection of dogs for our fun dog show and well done to all who took part. Ruth Leach, County Councillor for Woodbridge, was the guest judge, and the lovely Lola the Lurcher, took home the Dog of the Day trophy. Winners’ prizes were donated by Gladwells Pet and County Store, who are generously sponsoring all four of our fun dog shows this year. John Grose, Impact Aggregate & Grab Hire, Denbury Homes and Maybridge were silver sponsors for the Martlesham show, with Curtains at Home being individual Class sponsors. P&R Locksmiths have kindly provided the rosettes and Dog of the Day trophy.

Many thanks to all our selfless volunteers who turned out on a lovely sunny Sunday to make this event happen. Without your time and support, events like this, along with store collections, would not happen and we wouldn’t be able to raise much needed funds for the animals. Many thanks also to our generous bakers whose tasty efforts raised so much on our refreshment stall, and to our stallholders who provided a colourful variety of goods.
