Earl Stonham dog show raises record amount
Blue skies, sunshine and gloriously warm temperatures welcomed dog lovers to our latest fun dog show at Earl Stonham Village Hall on Sunday (4 October). And the generous turnout helped us raise over £1800 for animals in our care, a record for this event.
Many thanks to the stallholders who brought a lovely selection of hand-crafted wares, such as handmade crocheted items and animal themed gifts, Gnarly Oak’s beautiful carved wood ornaments, customised cuddly bears, lovely jewellery, and tailored dog coats. For the first time, Compassion in World Farming took a stall with us and the weather was warm enough that Whippy Bros ice cream van did a good trade.
As always, our raffle, tombola and RSPCA branded items did well, and our lovely bakers and cooks did fabulous work, laying out hot soups, sausage rolls, scones and a variety of cakes including vegan and gluten free delicacies. Many thanks to our bakers and to all our volunteers, without whom these events simply would not happen.
All our 2026 dog shows are sponsored by Gladwells Pet and Country Stores, and P&R Locksmiths have donated all the trophies and rosettes. Halo Blinds and Humber Doucy Brewery sponsored this show and Lorraine Baker, Chair of Mid-Suffolk District Council, kindly acted as guest judge. The task was a difficult one with many lovely dogs there on the day, but the final Dog of the Day winner was Rosie Rainbow, a gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog.
Join us if you can for our last fun dog show of the year at Great Barton Village Hall on Sunday 25 October.
