One Fun Day and dog show success
Our One Fun Day & Dog Show on 16 June was a great success, raising over £700 for animals in our care.
After the driving rain as we set up the gazebos, the weather turned bright and we were excited by the amount of people who came and stayed, looking around the stalls, inside and outdoors. It was a great day for anyone who loves to see dogs in all shapes and sizes and the Dog Show was our highlight. The overall “Dog of the Day” was Oscar, a four-year old, black, flat coated retriever.
Many thanks to Skinner’s Pet Food at Stradbrooke who kindly gave prizes to the winners and Charnwood Milling who donated a 15kg bag of dog food. Thanks also to The Regal in Stowmarket for the cinema tickets for our draw prize.
As always, our thanks go to the volunteers who make fundraising events like these – along with store collections and quizzes – possible. On the roll-call of honour this time: Jean, Geoffrey, Lorna, Marilyn, Ian, Gill, Stephen, Mary, Helen, Sue, Fran, Rachie, Sarah, Richard, John and Yvonne. More thanks go to the stallholders who brought a fantastic range of quality goods.
