We are a truly local charity providing essential animal welfare services across Suffolk
The RSPCA Suffolk Central branch exists to help animals across Suffolk. Our Animal Centre in Martlesham can care for over 100 animals in need at any one time. Through our welfare clinics and financial assistance scheme we support over 2,000 people and pets annually by providing heavily subsidised veterinary treatment.
Everything we do is funded by support from our local community via our charity shops, fundraising efforts, donations and gifts in Wills.
Adoption & rehoming

Pet of the Week
Ollie
Ollie came into our care as his previous owners could no longer keep him.
Ollie is a very smart chap, with lots of energy, so would benefit from an active home with experience with the breed, who are willing to give him plenty of things to do to keep him stimulated. He loves doing scent work, agility and puzzle games so we would love his new owners to be open to continuing this in his new home. Ollie really thrives when he is playing with his toys and learning new things with his favourite people.
He always greets you in the morning with a full body wag and is always so happy to see his humans.
Ollie can be a little worried by new situations and new people, so he will need his new humans to introduce him to new things gradually once settled.
He is the sweetest chap when he trusts you, and is always so eager to please. Do you have the space for our gorgeous boy?

There are many ways YOU can help raise the vital funds that we need to deliver our vital services. RSPCA Suffolk Central receives no funding from the government, all the running costs of the branch comes from generous donations, fundraising and legacies from the public and local community. But together this is what we achieved last year..

Success Story
Roxie rules the roost!
Roxie came into our care from a multi-animal rescue via RSPCA Inspectors and she was one of nine Persian cats that we rehomed. Now named Florence, she's certainly settled into her new home. Her mum says "Florence fitted into our family immediately. She's affectionate, playful and mischievous and loves jumping into the wardrobe or clawing the sofa when she thinks we're not looking! We maybe bias, but we think she's perfect. Thank you to RSPCA Suffolk Central for matching us, and for the smooth adoption process. It was clear to see that everyone we met cared deeply for the animals in their care. We just can't imagine life without Florence now."

Breeze turns 15!
This is Breeze, who has just turned 15 years old! She was adopted from our Martlesham Animal in 2017 and, although she is quite deaf, she is loving life. Well done Breeze!

Plum & George
Plum & George were adopted in March 2025 after being with us for nearly two years. Their new family were really grateful for the help and support given by the small animal team while going through the application process and were impressed by how passionate we are about finding the most suitable homes for our animals.
Their new family say "Plum and George have been a great additional to our family and brought us so much joy already. George is a laid back chap who enjoys his food and bed, but don't let that fool you - he also loves an escape attempt! Plum, who we have appropriately nicknamed "Chaos" has energy to burn! She's the tiniest girl, with the biggest personality and loves to jump around and play with her toys, but when she sleeps a herd of elephants couldn't wake this sleeping beauty! We're so grateful for everything the RSPCA did for our babies, we genuinely couldn't imagine our lives without them."

Dobby & Nala
Dobby was with us for a while before finding his perfect bunny wife, Nala, and although the bonding process took a few months we were happy to play a key role in two bunnies finally having the companionship they deserve.
Dobby's new owner was thrilled with how the team went above and beyond - not only in Dobby & Nala's care, but in providing daily updates and pictures. Both bunnies were excited to be home and settled in well - and they lived hop-pily ever after!

Happy Haggis
Haggis came into our care after being removed from an overcrowded home, with cat flu and an old leg injury that needed attention. After having his poorly leg amputated he was adopted in no time!
His new family gave us this update "Haggis is doing so well! He had his first vet visit yesterday and they were very happy with him and thought he was adorable and so well behaved. He's loving all the window sills to snooze on... as expected he's still just as playful and especially likes the wand toy and anything that jingles. We're so happy we found Haggis, thank you so much."
